How long does it take to get approved for Copart? ›

During the three-step registration process, you'll choose your membership and upload your photo ID and any business licenses you have. Your documents will be processed in 1-2 business days, and once approved, you'll be able to bid and buy!

To bid more, you'll need to deposit 10% of the total amount you want to bid. So, if you wanted to bid $20,000, you'd need to make a deposit of $2,000. If you are a Premier Member, you only need to make a one-time deposit of $400 to bid up to $100,000 per day.

Selling a car with a lien is illegal without the consent of the party that placed the lien.

You can drive a car directly off the lot if you have insurance on it and have access to dealer tags. Otherwise, we recommend you either have Copart ship it to your business address or hire a third-party transporter to bring it to you.

Why can't I bid on this lot? You must first have a valid government-issued ID on file with Copart to be able to bid. Click here then click on the "Upload License" button in the top right corner to upload your government-issued ID if you have not already done so. Each state has its own specific licensing requirements.

Please note, you can only use a credit card for purchases up to $20,000 USD. Any amount over that will need to be made with another payment option. Copart does not allow split payments when paying with a credit card and only one card can be used at a time. For further payment questions, please contact Member Services.

The payment deadline is 3 business days, including day of sale (funds must be received on Copart account within the 3-day period). If not paid within the 3 days, a $50 late fee is assessed on each vehicle.

You have won a vehicle! Please plan payment and shipping right away to avoid late payment and storage fees. You will have 3 business days to pay for the lot, including the day of sale.

Can you bid on Copart for free? ›

All Copart Members automatically get $1,000 in Buying Power when they register as a Basic Member. This allows bidding on one vehicle up to $1,000. A deposit is required to bid higher.

Unfortunately you cannot return vehicles to Copart after the sale. All sales are final, and all vehicles are sold as-is, that is why it is very important to inspect the vehicle prior to bidding, and obtain as much information as you can.

If Copart notifies the Member more than 45 days after bid acceptance that the vehicle and title are available for delivery, the Member may at its option either (i) cancel the sale, or (ii) pay for and take delivery of the vehicle.

Vehicle Relist Fee

The Relist Fee will be 10% of the final sale price with a minimum of $600. If you have a deposit on file, the relist fee will be taken out of your existing deposit.

Run and Drive

At Copart, Run and Drive has a specific meaning: At the time the vehicle arrived at Copart's location, Copart verified that the vehicle started, could be put into gear and was capable of moving forward under its own power.

Once your documents have been verified by our Member License Team, you will receive an email letting you know that your account has been activated for bidding. Please note that it may take up to three business days for your documents to be processed and verified before you can bid.

We need to receive your documents BEFORE you can start bidding and buying vehicles. Once we have your documents, we should have them processed in 1 business day.

On Approval - Seller has reserved the right to approve the final high bid achieved during the virtual auction. Seller has until 8:00 p.m. PST one business day after the sale to approve the bid. The high bidder is obligated to purchase the vehicle if released by the Seller within the approval period.

You can receive cash for your vehicle as soon as one business day after accepting our offer.
